Secondary School Programs and Performance of Students With Disabilities (November 2011)

Publication Number: NCSER 2012-3000

This report uses high school transcript data from the National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 to provide a national picture of the school programs and performance of students with disabilities in typical high schools. The report includes information about course credit-earning patterns of students with disabilities in their academic, vocational, and nonacademic, nonvocational courses; the instructional settings in which they took their courses; and their grade performance, examining both grade point average and course failure experiences. Findings are presented by disability category, grade level, demographic characteristics, and by high school completion status. Comparisons with students in the general population are included.
